Temporary Associate - Litigation & Disputes (Claims Processing)

Provide day-to-day support to the claims process, ensuring the timely and accurate filing and review of claims for Ankura managed settlements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with law firms and settlement counsel to ensure that releases are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Interact with settlement counsel and law firms to correct claim form, release and other required documentation errors or omissions and to investigate questionable entries
  • Manage claims related databases, internal and external, to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date
  • Perform data collection, document review and research projects, as requested
  • Management of temporary staff
  • Monitor and provide ongoing oversight to ensure project budget adherence regarding utilization of temporary and permanent staff
  • Prepare summary reports of claims processing status, and other ad hoc reports as needed
  • Organize, sort and filter large data sets in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends
  • Analyze and find patterns and relationships in data sets and report on findings to other team members or clients
  • Perform analysis on existing data and identify root causes for data inaccuracies
  • Refine methods and processes used to extract data from large structured/unstructured datasets
  • Follow quality assurance and data testing strategies and best practice standards
  • Respond in a timely manner to data requests to ensure daily, weekly and monthly deadlines and goals are met
  • Conduct research on industries and matters related to pending projects
  • Review documents, claims and other client materials to extrapolate relevant data
  • Draft memos, correspondence, and contribute to client reports
  • Support in-house business and product development efforts
In-depth technical and administrative understanding of the following is required
  • MS Office, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Relevant Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • One to two years of experience in a similar role
