Temporary Associate – Project Management/Claims Processing

We are looking to hire a temporary full-time entry-level associate (with the potential of becoming a regular employee) to provide day-to-day support to the Project Management Office (PMO) for a major project, ensuring the timely and accurate task completion and coordination related to business and administrative management of the major project. This individual would also provide operational support for a multi-year project related to the administration of the claims and payment approval process of a major class action settlement.
  1. PMO Role:
  • Work closely with PMO lead to assist in invoicing on a monthly basis
  • Interact with project personnel, including senior leadership, in furtherance of PMO business and administrative roles
  • Serve as subject matter expert for billing practices, billing software, billing database management, and data extract cleaning and manipulation
  • Perform data collection, document review and research projects, as requested
  • Create, retain, and update protocol documentation related to all aspects of current and future projects
  • Conceive, design, propose, implement, and manage operations projects in furtherance of PMO duties and in support such projects for other practice areas
  • Monitor and provide ongoing oversight to ensure project budget adherence regarding utilization of temporary and permanent staff
  • Assist in production, update, and review of in-depth financial models, reports, and budget tracking documents in furtherance of PMO duties
  • Prepare summary reports related to all aspects of the PMO duties
  • Organize, sort, and filter large data sets in order to identify patterns and anomalies
  • Perform analysis on existing data and identify root causes for data inaccuracies
  • Refine methods and processes used to extract data from large structured/unstructured datasets
  • Follow quality assurance and data testing strategies and best practice standards
  • Respond in a timely manner to data requests to ensure daily, weekly and monthly deadlines and goals are met
  • Support in-house business and product development efforts
  • Participate in meetings, take notes, extrapolate action items, produce tasks, assign tasks and deadlines, track tasks and deadlines on productivity software, and report status to management
  1. Class Action Settlement Administration Role
    • Learn and apply vast and complex claims review protocol
    • Learn and apply best practices for protocol documentation drafting, retention, and updating
    • Accurately and efficiently apply protocol to make eligibility determinations for complex claims
    • Collaborate with team of professionals involved in claims processing, payment processing, data analytics, settlement administration, and system development
    • Research policy issues in settlement documentation to help determine protocol
    • Perform routine and ad hoc data processing and analytics tasks in relation to claims processing and settlement administration
    • Participate in meetings, take notes, extrapolate action items, produce tasks, assign tasks and deadlines, track tasks and deadlines on productivity software, and report status to management
    • Research disparate issues related to claims processing and settlement administration and draft memos for internal and/or external client consumption
    • Utilize and familiarize oneself with technical inner-workings of proprietary claims processing platform
In-depth technical and administrative understanding of the following is required
  • MS Office, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Relevant Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Relevant advanced degree is a plus
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • One to two years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent educational experience
  • Extreme attention to detail
