QA Analyst

The QA Analyst will work under general supervision to monitor software quality and associated business/technical risks across the software development lifecycle and will be dedicated to support test planning, developing test cases, executing test scripts, and multitasking QA efforts across multiple platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review requirements specifications and provide input during requirements gathering stages
  • Document, track and communicate test plans, test results, analysis, and unresolved problems
  • Proactively escalate issues to the development team and collaborate with team to define a solution; propose and design retest cases, scripts and data as needed
  • Collaborate with team to assist with user acceptance testing, to include design, data collection and documentation of test results
  • Accountable for accurate testing results
  • Ensure defects are logged correctly and tracked through closure
  • Prevent bugs by identifying high risk areas of the system where defects are likely to occur based on feature complexity
  • Identify bugs and ensure defects are logged correctly to allow developers to replicate and pinpoint the areas effected
  • Confirmation test bug fixes and track defect reports through closure
  • Provide system training support for User Acceptance Test team
  • Develop User Stories, Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Scripts based on planned project schedules and in accordance with QA methodologies for new and updated technical and functional requirements
  • Execute Test Cases in multiple test environments (local development, local test, stage, and UAT environments)
  • Execute blackbox testing using SQL queries
In-depth technical and administrative understanding of the following is required
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Good analytical mind and eagerness to solve challenging problems
  • Ability to think outside the box and outside the user stories/requirements to find issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with manual testing methodologies of complex systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn new information quickly
  • Strong capabilities performing independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize own workload effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience working with quality assurance principles and best practices
  • Proficiency with system development lifecycle and test engineering methodologies
Relevant Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a QA role in software development or commercial web-based application environment
  • 1+ years of experience building user scenarios, use cases, process flow diagrams, and business / functional requirements documents
  • SQL skills is a plus
  • Automated Testing experience is a plus
