Purchasing/Procuremnt Analyst
Washington, DC
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the firm’s purchasing and inventory activities, including process development, vendor management, contract management, and sourcing.
  • Consolidate firm purchasing through evaluation and consolidation of existing contracts.  Identify opportunities and new areas for purchasing consolidation.  Areas may include:  office supplies, travel, cell phone plans, copiers, office audio/visual technology, telecommunications, computer equipment, software, IT services, subscriptions, and equipment maintenance contracts.
  • Develop and execute processes for daily procurement operations, including:
    • Contract management including maintaining a master list of contracts and recording key elements from the contract for easy searching/identification (such as expiration date, contact, pricing summary, renewal terms, etc.)
    • Vendor management to include developing a structure and process to monitor vendor performance and executing the process, in collaboration with key customers.
    • Ensure vendors are reputable and reliable.
    • Invoice review and analysis.
    • Handle procurement requests from customers:
      • Re-assign unused assets (e.g.  software licenses) before purchasing more
      • Work with existing suppliers to add more volume
      • Update asset tracking records (e.g.  software, hardware)
  • Lead full procurements, working with key stakeholders and senior leadership:
    • Confirm / update customer needs before existing contracts expire or interface with customers to understand requirements
    • Develop a bid process to ensure best pricing with high quality vendors. 
    • Research and write technical RFPs related to purchasing.
    • Manage contract review, working with stakeholders and legal
    • Manage supplier negotiation
  • Maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchasing.
  • Work with senior leadership in the development of firm-wide purchasing policies and processes to ensure cost efficiencies can be realized. 
  • Collaborate with Finance on systems to support the procurement process
  • Other duties and projects as requested.

  • BA in Business Administration, Accounting, or related program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the procurement field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Contract management experience.
